I have a book called The Beatrix Potter Needlepoint Book , by Pat Memchini , F.Warne. Amongst the Xst patterns there are also some knitting paterns , one of which is a "Patchwork Shawl" that lookd like colored drops, And it is made by strips where the patch starts thinly and gets wider and than thinner again, It occured to me that one [I ??] could knit several strips together and save all this sewing it together . Any one saw or owns this book ??? mirjam

I've never heard of the book, Mirjam.... but the idea for the shawl pattern sounds neat. :o)

I have the very same book. It would be doable. You would have to decide if you wanted to start the alternate rows halfway through, and have an even edge, or start half the strips for 12 rows and join at that point.
