FO

It is so seldom that I have a FO that I just have to tell you about it. On hols I did an 18 inch by 11 inch cross stitch scene on 14 count . Nothing remarkable about this except that the pattern was 11 x 9 3/4.

This meant that I had to add 1 1/4 inches to the height and seven inches to the length.( 3 1/2 each end)

So I had to figure out how the scene might look if continued for that length and I am very pleased with the result. I had made it that size to cover a stool but Frank likes it so much that I will have to think of something else for the stool as he wants it framed.

When I get all modern and have the equipment to send photos I will post one. God Bless Gwen

Woohoo! COngratulations, Gwen. I usually do a lot of knitting while traveling - when Keith is driving, of course!

Hi Gwen,

Great, now I'm curious, what is the scene? Since I can't see a picture yet, can you describe it for me?

Katherine is lucky that she can knit while riding along. I can't as I'm the only driver in the family.

Hugs,

Nora

Awww, that's too bad, Nora. I while away many hours on the road knitting.

Katherine and Nora I used to knit while in the car but these days I do not need the finished articles so I do not do much knitting. The cross stitch is done while Frank fishes. God Bless gwen

Nora I will try -in the top half of the picture - along the top are heavy clouds in shades of blue and of course some sky as well and there is a lovely old type house with steps down to the bottom of the picture. the background on the right of the picture is a kind of pine forest scene and on the left is a tree resembling our gum trees with low hills in the distance.

The bottom half of the picture, on the right , shows a path leading down to the bottom of the picture and an old style fence with rounded heads on the posts separating the forest from lawn and little flowers. and on the left is a larger fence of the same kind with rambling roses on it and flowers underneath,

To add to this I tried to continue the pine forest on the top right and on the bottom right I expanded the fence from two panels to five and put some roses along it ( smaller roses than were on the left) then to finish the bottom part of this side I put a little arch of flowers and two pot plants - I admit that I "stole" the arch and the pots pattern from another scene in the same book.

Then on the left I put in another shape of tree know here as a Kurrajong !! to extend the top half and the bottom half I extended the fence panels and put in an extra one.

Sorry this is so long God Bless Gwen

Hi Gwen,

Oh that sounds so pretty and refreshing to look at, I can see why Frank would want it framed.
