Pattern from _Folk Shawls_, a book I'm pretty sure I'll knit my waythrough over the course of the next 10 years :DI made the shorter version (just a matter of knitting fewer repeats)and ended up with something pushing 7' (yes, seven feet) in length.This is half of it as seen thrown over my drying line for a photo op.I need to block it a bit to get the points on the edging to lienicely. I'll weave in the ends after I do the blocking.No, your eyes don't deceive you: the yarn pooled in a very interestinghelix pattern. I love Folk Shawls. I am just having a hard time deciding which to knit next. I knit the Lacy Prairie Shawl out of some hand-dyed mohair/wool/silk blend, really lovely and warm. I am thinking of the Wool Peddler's Shawl - I have red mohair for that one - or the Sampler Shawl - or or or. I think it's easier to use for beginners, the patterns are mostly written out as well as charted.
