Free(?) yarn

Hi, In another newsgroup, I learned that Newton's Knits in Anaheim, CA is offering yarn for $1.25/lb postage. They claim it is first quality, but you don't get to choose color or type and they are responding to emails only. You must order 10 pounds minimum. I haven't received my order yet, so don't know what will be coming, but if you are in the mood to take a risk, this is a fairly low cost one.

Hi Posey,

Do they have a website? I hope you come and tell us what you received, sounds interesting.

Hugs,

Reply to the list as I do not publish an email address to USENET. This practice has cut my spam by more than 95%. Of course, I did have to abandon a perfectly good email account...

Posey,

Please let me know if you are pleased with the yarn.

I see we both use charter.net

I have not received my free yarn from Newton's, but several others have on the Machine knitting Yahoo group and they seem pleased, though the yarn received is very light weight. Most have mentioned Angora/acrylic blends and are pleased with the colors. I'll post when I do get mine and though the offer has expired, a poster said she contacted Newtons on Aug 8 and was able to make an order.
