Ewww, I saw the original of that movie when I was quite young (home alone on a Saturday afternoon with the drapes shut while my parents had gone to the grocery store here in town)... I absolutely HATED that movie. It freaked me out to no end and I couldn't stand having a fly anywhere near me for a very long time after that. Of course I have always had a thing about spiders anyway, so the end of that movie didn't help.

Oh, and I refused to watch the Jeff Goldblum version! Nope... one watching of The Fly was enough for my entire lifetime! *shudders*

oooh! the Vincent Price one! i *loved* Vincent Price. he was such a great creepy movie actor & such a gentleman :)

the Vincent Price one is much scarier. i like Jeff Goldblum, but that version of the Fly just wasn't as moody or horrifying. the original is much closer to the story, plus B&W is just more unsettling for horror, i think. lee

Lee,

I've been looking for you! lol

You left a post here ages ago saying I should contact you offline about threads, and I tried a few times but the emails bounced. Then I left a message on the wrong newsgroup and got a very confused other Lee. haha

Could you contact me? My email is cathy@ the web site at the bottom.

Thanks,

Catherine

oh, i love horror films, and bad sci-fi films (because they're usually so unintentionally funny). note though that i say horror films, not slasher films or all those stupid films with gratuitous violence. that is NOT horror. i think the last really good horror film i saw was Blair Witch Project (when i was pregnant, actually). my housemate wouldn't go down in the basement alone for a year after that, or outside after dark... i suppose it didn't help that i put one of those 'corner kids' dolls at the bottom of the basement stairs & there's a bit of construction noise one can hear through our woods...

i saw Aliens 1 & 2, but gave up after that. they were just getting stupid. :) lee
