Hanna Falkenberg????

Hi Ladies and Gents! I'm just about finished knitting a Hanna Falkenberg ballerina coat......Do any of you know if the thing is gonna stretch when I block it....it's knitted side to side in garder stitch.....(you end up in garder stitch hell!!!) anyway, IF it doesn't grow, get ready for a %^#^*(% rant......260 bucks is alot of money to pay for a coat, especially if it's too small!!!! Any words of wisdom out there???? Happy sunday to all...it's 110 in Goodyear Az today....but it's a dry heat, and i equate it to living where it snows so much that ur stuck indoors....here it's so hot, ur stuck in doors....of course after the sun goes down, it's into the pool! So maybe it's a bit better that snow!!!! If you freeze here, it's cauz the air condition is too high!! Enough!!! Thanks everyone! Maggie

Good luck with your coat, I hope it works out for you. I've never done anything like that so I don't have any words of wisdom for you.

Yikes.... 110 degrees!! Umm yeah, about the comparison to living where it snows.... you also don't have to shovel it... unless you have sand drifts to clear away? LOL

Once in a great while in the dead of winter and I'm freezing my *ss off (how I wish that phrase was accurate... I wouldn't have to worry about trying to exercise it off. LOL), I have a minor wish to be somewhere hot. But in reality, I wouldn't trade my changing seasons for anything! I love all of the different seasons for different reasons. :o)

The Hanne projects I've met were all oversized, aka Herself's patterns. The only blocking the gal did was to sort of straighten everything out. I inherited some Hanne patterns - the finished measurements do in fact look biggish to me. Did your gauge change during the project?

Austin hit 102F the other day - summer is officially here.

Reply to the list as I do not publish an email address to USENET. This practice has cut my spam by more than 95%. Of course, I did have to abandon a perfectly good email account...

Nope the gauge didn't change....calls for a size 4 needle, i'm a tight knitter so i'm using a five to get the gauge correct.....but believe me, it's no overly big!

Mirjam, she design kits, coats, hats, scarfs, but mostly coats, they are knit all in garder stitch, the one i'm knitting is a ballerina coat, knit from side to side, all in one piece, with about a gazillion short rows for shaping....her kits are quite pricey, mine was $260.00.......but her techniques are fasinating......well worth the money...

here is the link to the coat i'm knitting.......and here is a link to see all her designs...

.......i believe the patterns a translated into english by someone who DOES NOT knit......it was a challange...but once I got the "just" of what the pattern was saying, i was fine!
