I've never had fried turkey, Nora. Is it done the same way as fried chicken?
Oh... the first time we had turkey burgers was at our local fair a few years ago (although they don't put actual thickened gravy in with their turkey for moisture... just the drippings, I think), and we just loved them! I actually had to go back to the fair close to suppertime and pick up enough for all of us (my parents were still living at the time).... along with a few other "fair" treats like candy apples, and candyfloss. LOL
Since then though, when we have a lot of turkey left over after Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, I always make sure to finely (not TOO finely though) chop enough to almost fill one of those plastic ice-cream containers along with a couple of large spoonfuls of gravy that is left after the meal and freeze it to use two or three weeks later. Just heat and spoon it onto the hamburger buns. It is SOOOOO good!! :o)
When I make cold turkey sandwiches (Both my parents used to love these too. In fact the last Thanksgiving that my Dad was alive he was in the hospital and I brought him a couple of sandwiches from home, as they were giving him mushy food that he refused to eat... he ate the sandwiches like he had never eaten food before.) I always put a layer of jellied cranberry sauce between a layer of turkey and a layer of dressing. :o)
Peace! Gemini
