info on tatting

Apr 03, 2005 9 Replies

Hi everyone, Could someone explain to me, how to read the pattern or charts for tatting, I donot understand the terms. It seems to be easy to do ,but I don't know how to do it and would like to learn .Info will be appreciated. Stella

The book in which the charts are printed should include a key to the symbols on the charts.

Most of the patterns on the following page are written out using tatting abbreviations, all of which appear to be defined at the beginning of the pattern in which the abbreviations appear. This site also provides some basic tatting instructions; I know a couple of folks who have taught themselves to tat using hte informat on this site.

With the below info:

And didn't even receive even a KMA, much less a thanks. Noreen

Noreen, I haven't seen any posts from her since early afternoon. She may still be reading all thoselovely sites you provided, or else we just haven't seen her reply. I keep finding posts pop up hours after I've read a reply to one I haven't seen before, except in someone else's response. BTW, I may be keeping these on file for my own use, so thank you for providing them.

You're welcome, Carey! I guess I was having a downer and felt a little unappreciated... typing just seems to leave out the 'emotion' of what I was trying to convey! Noreen ducking back into lurkdom

Noreen,

I think it is safe to say that you are ALWAYS appreciated around here!
