Introductions

I go by JJMolvik (there were just too many Jennifers for awhile). I live in the Pacific Northwest. I am 40 (yes hard birthday this year) have been married 13.5 years, have 2 DDs; one is 11 and the other is 9. My 9 yo has somewhat picked up knitting, but not nearly as obsessively as I. I have been knitting for 4 years and crocheting for 16(?). My DM is a sewer, not a needleworker, so I didn't learn from her. She is my "audience" for all my work. I am owned by one fiesty, paper-punching cat named, Moo. I also have a Boston Terrier named, Echo. Where there are "Alpha" dogs, he is a "Sub-Omega", a serious "momma's dog."

I always have a minimum of three projects going at once. Reason being, different yarns, different sizes, different needles, no boredom. GRIN

My name is Bonnie but I go by "BonnieBlue" here as there was another Bonnie for a while. I don't know if she is still around, maybe lurking...

I live in San Angelo, Texas, with my engineer husband and chocolate lab Ajax. I will turn 44 in about a month. I work as a legal assistant to support my hobbies which are reading, counted thread embroidery and knitting. I also crochet occasionally and do some sewing for myself. I taught myself to crochet and knit, first English style then continental style, from books. I did take a continuing studies knitting class one fall and that helped with some things like yarn overs. My sister taught me to do counted cross stitch and then I moved on to many other counted thread stitches and techniques.

One night in March our local university's continuing studies program will have a one-night spinning lesson using a drop spindle. I am thinking about signing up for that.

This is a great place to learn and share. The folks are really nice here!

Hi Abby at last a minute to reply to your query! I'm Christine, I live in Kent in South East England, a beautiful part of the world, in a village full of history which I love. I have 3 offspring (can't call them children any more) DD1 29, DS almost 27 & DD2 21. None of them at home anymore, but still needing attention! I'm a registered nurse and work in the local General Practice, doing all sorts of interesting and sometimes stressful things. I knit, crochet, Tunisian crochet, tat and dabble in things like broomstick crochet, hairpin lace and anything else that takes my fancy and I can afford! Welcome to rcty. Enjoy Love & higs Christine

I go by BB here, my name is Betty. I live in Ohio with DH and DD still at home and I have two sons who are out in the world now :) I just became a first time grandmother a couple of weeks ago to a beautiful baby girl.

I wasn't around anyone crafty when I was young and finally a great aunt showed my how to crochet ripple afghans my senior year in high school. That was all she could do, but it got me started. Then a few years later, my (then) future MIL showed me how to knit. After having my 3rd baby all of those years ago, I gave it all up for several years. I took it up again a few years ago. I now much prefer knitting to crochet, so I have an afghan that may never be finished - lol. Lately, I've been focused on advancing the quality of my work as I acquire new skills, instead of just acquiring new skills.

This group has a wealth of information and I don't think I've ever seen a question go unanswered :)

Learned to knit when I was younger but it never really stuck with me until I was about 11 or 12 and decided to knit some bootees for a pregnant friend. Since then been knitting on and off.
