Thank you! I spent a couple of hours last night and didn't come anywhere close to what I was after. (I don't think my search skills are what they should be.)

This recipe was in a local paper recently. Perhaps you can adapt it by using lemon or lime Jell-o.
Strawberry Candy
2 small packages strawberry Jell-O 1 cup sweetened canned milk 1/2 teaspoon almond extract 1 tablespoon red sugar 1/3 pound finely ground coconut (drying overnight helps it tot grind easier and finer) 1/2 pound finely ground blanched almonds (almond paste also works)
- Hand mix Jell-O, milk, extract and sugar to dissolve. Add coconut and almonds.
- Shape into strawberries and roll in red sugar. Place on waxed paper. Press ball on wax paper while pulling up to form a tip. Makes about 100.
- Let sit overnight. Use lemon or orange Jell-O and lemon or orange extract for a different look.
Note: Colored sugar can be made with sugar and food coloring and let dry.
