I was once witness to a woman with four kids in the car (truck, really, a Ford Excursion is built on a big consumer truck chassis) driving at speed on a twisting highway while 1. talking on phone (one hand) 2. applying makeup (one hand) 3. smoking a cig (yet another hand) and 4.scribbling on papers.

Scariest thing I've ever seen.

Wow that is scary, and very serious. However, something did hit me funny (sorry, I have an odd sense of humor)... how many hands did this woman have? To do all of the above at the same time it looks like she needed at least

4... not to mention steering the truck (or it could have been done with her knee.. I've seen that too), and control four kids.

But yeah, getting back to the seriousness of it... even if these people don't care about themselves you'd think they'd be a little more careful when they have their kids in the vehicle with them.

Mirjam, Alabama congress is trying to get a law like that here in Alabama. It didn't pass this year to be a law but maybe it will be next year. People don't seem to think do they, one couple over here, left their baby in a car whilst they went to the house to ring the bell......the car burst into flames........so sad and such a needless waste of life, all for a bit of forethought...
