Knitting needle cases

Can anyone recommend a good source for reasonably- priced knitting needle cases?

Yes I can, and for nothing, I use my freezer paper box when empty. for storing my knitting needles.

I also saw a wonderful way of storing the circular needles. You take a strip of nice material, left over from some other sewing project. This strip should be about 15 inches wide and 30 inches long. Make a rounded point at the top only create a hanger at the top so you can hang it on the wall. Line it with some other material. Now sew a wide piece of elastic right down the middle, as follows. Sew down the first two inches, skip one inch sew one or two inches, skip one inch, etc all the way down to the bottom. You now have pockets to push your circular needles through. Let the knitting needels hang evenly on either side. One you have them all neatly organized two they will not curl up so much because the weight of the needles straighten the wire out. Hang it on the way and naturally do store the needles not in use in your needle hanger. You can glue needle numbers and lengs in the middle of the elastic strip.

How about a pencil case? They work and you can get them at the Dollar Store.

Empty "Pringles" cans & "Zip-Loc" bags (for circulars) are two that come to my mind.

Sheila how many needles do you have ? if you have a small amount , you can sew or crochet a purse size bag , close with zipp or velcru. if you have manyneedles , and you have some old cloth or clothing item you don`t use anymore , now take a length of cloth as long as you want or can but the width should be twice the length of your longest needle. make a seam on both length sides , now fold it thus that when you put the needles on it the back side will be a bit [2,5 cm or 1 inch] longer than longest needle. and the cloth folded over it will cover less than the needle`s length [ think putting the needles into bed:>:>:>] now sew over the folded sides compartments that will each hold a pair of needles !!! add lints at the ends and you can Roll it with all your needles inside , you can add some metal hooks and hang it on the wall , or put as is on a shelf. Since i have way too many needles i pit mine in a plastic Office drawers. But used to have a roll of them . mirjam
