LYS sale

What's better than opening your mailbox and finding a newsletter announcing an annual inventory sale at the LYS? Everything in the store is on sale, most of it at 20% off, for 2 weeks. The sale started on Thursday but I didn't get there until yesterday and was already seeing empty spaces on the shelves. However, I did come home with yarn for two new projects. Today I started knitting a cardigan sweater from Silky Wool which is a wool and silk yarn by Elsebeth Lavold. The color is a medium blue called woad which I had to look up in the dictionary. It is the name of a plant and also a blue dye made from dried leaves of the plant. The yarn has an interesting texture because of lighter flecks of fibers that don't absorb the dye well.. My other yarn purchase was 30% off because the store is discontinuing it. It's a Norwegian yarn called Smart, which Aud has used, in an olive green tweed wool with flecks of gold and red. I plan to use it for a vest from the Folk Vests book.
