My Windfall

I am knitting [shirt] sweaters on a number 4 mm needle they are wonderful to wear ,, and don`t take forever to knit , and are HEAVENLY to wear ,,, as to Heated buildings,,, you will see that Temps of many buildings will drop , In other countries , people aren`t overheating so that they can with summer clothes in the house ,, Sweaters are deffinitel back also because the World can`t afford this High heating bills ,, mirjam

And I still wish they hadn't. It's easier for the manufacturer to make everyone wear the same boxy shape, but I like set-in sleeves. I'm happy to see the occasional pattern with set-in sleeves is appearing in the magazines. Even now that I _am_ a boxy shape, I look and feel better in something shaped. Tents are for camping, not wearing.

I've also found some older books and patterns at garage and estate sales, and I have yet to have time to work with any of the patterns, but since I know my gauge with whatever yarn and most needles, I'd figure out what yarn to use by looking at gauge. The one you said gives 6 stitches to inch I'd probably use sport weight yarn to make. It wouldn't be as tight and thick as using worsted, so unless I thought the extreme stiffness was needed, that's what I'd do. Just M2CW.

I believe that copyright expires after 30 years, so you are probably safe on sharing the pictures that are 30 or more years older, definitely should be safe as long as you don't try and make a profit from showing them.

These were printed in the US. I think it is just a matter of gauge, because some of the patterns that use worsted weight, use small needles, and are tailored, and some used larger needles and are looser.

I knitted myself some sweaters and vests and shaped the hip part by adding stiches [well placed around] to fit the more mature shape i gained , but now i lost some size it is all a bit wide on me , luckiny i knit fromn neck down and this can be done , but i am a slow knitter and do other things so i am not looking forward to reknit many parts ,,, thus i am thinking of either using the sewing machine or wearing belts again ,, now had i knitted in a Square shape and not tailored , this would have looked better ,,,,, mirjam

Thank you Hesira , but even if they were printed in USA , maybe the patters are British UK , somehow the needle sizes sounf UK to me ,,, in the 70s many books were copied just like that , and i remember many of my friends not knowing about the difference in sizing getting weird results in their knittings,,,, mirjam

As I understand it and I may be wrong: The old copyright law gave you 28 years but it was changed to "life of copyright owner plus 70 years of estate" for anything after the change. If something was published in the USA before

Yes Tamar copy rights are being discussed all over and the more i read i see a lot of confusion + partly Urban legends + some unrealistic laws that have no value to the layman or woman who don`t have money to sue anyway ,,,, mirjam
