I was perusing the site Jenn mentioned for the Moon Garden cardigan and found they have and Opera Gloves pattern free on the site.

JJ, What a terrific site. Not that I need opera-length gloves, but the photos and the instructions on this site are so good for a basic glove tutorial; I've printed it out as well as bookmarked it. The older I get, the more photos plus clear step-by-step instructions I need!
On the topic of gloves.... I found this website today with a pattern generator for basic gloves. I bought the yarn before I looked for a pattern......
