OT: going to Marietta, Georgia

First jaunt for Don and I since BC (before cancer) and we're excited.

Not only that, Christy has plans for Saturday that don't necessarily include me, so I'll get some knitting and or crocheting done.

Leaving Friday, back either Sunday night or early Monday morning.

Hugs, Noreen

Hi Noreen,

Have a great time, you both deserve some time away from home.

Hugs,

Nora

Thanks, Nora! It should be relaxing, we told her NOT to go all out, just being away will be great! Hugs, Noreen who is already armed with phone numbers, faxes and emails for Don's entire medical team, LOL!

Thanks, Gem! Now that FanFair and Bonnerroo are over, we don't expect 'much' in the way of traffic. It's a three hour trip, well, three and a half if I drive... two and a half when Don drives... Hugs, Noreen

The comment about having all the phone numbers and so on reminded me of the vacation trip Bill and I took the second year we were married. He was on oxygen 24/7. Here we were headed to Illinois from Florida. It was a trial getting the VA to help get us supplies for a trip, for starters. In the end, Bill bought an SUV so we could accomodate all his necessary supplies, luggage, two children and ourselves. We took 12 tanks of oxygen and his concentrator. I am sure there were other things, but if you can imagine 12 huge oxygen tanks rolling around in the back end of an SUV, you have the picture. Today would have been our

7th anniversary, had we stayed married. At least in the place where he is today, he no longer needs oxygen or to plan for how to keep enough on hand. He passed three years ago the 25th of this month.

Despite the rather morbid sound of the death and divorce, I do hope the trip for Don and Noreen is a great one. Usually it is rejuvenating and all the things you have planned as worst case scenarios do not happen. Hope that is the way it works for you as well.

Hugs, Susan
