Going to Canada!

Hi Guys, OK -- I am going to Winnipeg with DH on Monday and I GET TO MEET FRED!!!! Needless to say, this is great :-)! Fred has said he will show me the LNS so I need to know if anyone up in the northern reaches has any recommendations for something needlework related that I *must* have that is not available down this way?? CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I am delighted for you! I'm sure you will have a blast. I do have a request however...please keep your eyes open at the LNS and any news stands for that new Canadian Xstitch magazine that was mentioned in this group some time ago. Sorry but I can't remember what the name is. Anyway, just check it out and give us a report? Thnaks, Rachel in Scottsdale

Or pick up several and mail them to us to share around!

It's called "A Needle Pulling Thread", I haven't seen any issues in the stores yet. I do have a subscription to them and got the first issue free. Which came out before christmas. They're only going to publish about 4 times a year (Festive, Spring, Summer and Fall), so I highly double it will be in the stores before March or April.

If you're in Winnipeg, go by Mrs. Twitchet's Eye... Carolyn the owner is a lovely lady. A really sweet person.

I can only say, when I brought mine back from Winterpeg and showed the Guild, I think we sold 30 some without even turning around. I always get a smile when I see people sitting around on Tuesdays at the Guild stitching away in a Fred Stitch-Away lol

I already HAVE one of each size of the FANTASTIC Stitch Away Fabric Mounts!! I have some other absolutely lovely Fred stuff too -- like a footstool and those GREAT laying tools he made for MOI!! What I REALLY want to get is a big sloppy dog kiss from Chilkoot :-)))! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Beautiful magazine. Future articles are probably going to include 2 people I know, they've been asked to submit. Cindy Jackson (goldwork) and Margaret Vant Erve (threadpainting). Pictures are gorgeous and the articles are informative. And it's printed on good paper. It's as good as any magazine on the newspaper shelf.

OOOO -- wouldn't THAT be a surprise -- LOL! The *Stealth* Sleigh ride was one of the highlights of our short stay in your neck o' the woods -- that and getting to see you :-)! If I did find a way to do a sleigh ride it would have to be solo or with Fred because DH is going to be at work all day, every day. He might even end up working to all hours of the night (like he usually does when he's there)! That's all OK with MOI -- I get to visit someplace NEW that's NOT in the USofA. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Jeanine wrote (lots of very good suggestions for Tia Mary) And don't forget Jeannette Douglas. Her regional samplers are terrific Canadian souvenirs. Dawne
