Hilarious, we could start a story here, a detictive story would be fun. Christine and Aud, I can add to these two stories. My sister had a friend who was an artist. Once while I was staying with my sister in Amsterdam, her friend came by for a coffee. In the middle of the visite, when my sister asked her how the new baby was, she looked up with horror in her eyes, she realized that she had left the baby outside the butcher shop on the way to my sister. We all jumped up and ran back to the bucher, where just as in your case, the baby was still sound asleep. I lost my watch, and could not find it anywhere. In the end I gave up and bought a new one. Next year in the spring I found it back in our flower bed by the front door, where I had taken it off the year before, and put it on the step, for safe keeping. My worse misplacement was with my hearing aid. (I have been wearing hearing aids since my mid forties, and started with one in the right ear) . I would always loose the damn thing, taking it out when it was hot, or when I got tired. Otto picked me up from work one day and I took the aid out of my ear, and stuck it into one of my pockets. Next morning I could not find the aid. I drove Otto totally crazy trying to find it. It is really needed for being able to hear, when at work. After two days of total frustration, having a very tidy house, looking for it, I did find it back. It was stuck among the gravel in the driveway by the garage. Otto had driven over it several times. Lucky me since it was so tiny it had fallen down between the gravel and it still worked to (hearing aids are costly and easy to loose beleave you me) I now have a little pouch that I hang around my neck, if I would just remember top put the aids in the pouch and not somewhere else.....LOL

It's been fun reading the stories so far. Mine is about the time I _thought_ I had misplaced something. As you read, keep in mind that I'm a person who seldom loses anything and will spend an inordinate amount of time looking for it when I do.

This happened on a trip several years ago with my sister. When we got back to the hotel about 10 PM on our last day, I was intent on packing and going to bed as soon as possible because we had to get at 4:00 the next morning for an early flight. After whisking off my blouse and skirt and slipping on my nightgown, I was in the middle of packing when I realized my black half slip was missing. Gosh, how could that be when I had just taken it off? I searched everywhere - in the drawers, under the beds, under the covers, etc. - more than once. How could it vanish? Could I just forget about it? Nooooo, I had to find that damn slip. I even annoyed my sister by making her search her bag.. Finally, I had just to sit down to think about it. We were talking about something else when the answer came to both of us at the exact same moment: I still had it on hiding under my nightgown. We laughed so hard I almost wet myself.

Thanks for funny stories! !!!! ;-)))

Ans thanks for the tip about hearing aids! I have bought new and expensive glases, and since they are more "delcate" than I have had before, I must say I have been extreemly clever and always placed them in their box when taking them off.

BUT my hearing aids? Well, now I got the idea! AUD
