My nephew Dan's picture was in the Penney's ad in the paper again yesterday. And I don't think I mentioned that he has proposed to his beloved Amy and that they are getting married October 22.
The other news is longer, so delete if not interested. Last weekend I was the female chaperone for my daughter's drama troupe trip to Tampa for what is called Florida State Thespian Festival. She went performing two contrasting monologues and was awarded a superior rating in the competition. That means she can go on to the highest level, that at International Thespians in Lincoln Nebraska at the end of June. I am pleased and delighted, sharing this button busting news with you. So, at the same festival, she also auditioned before over 30 school reps for scholarships to their schools. She seemed a bit disappointed that her co-performer got three call backs to her none. Then we got home and the callbacks started coming. Now she has three. We have to go to Orlando at the end of this month for two more auditions for two very prestigious schools in NYC and the third, a school here in FL has already accepted her, based on that performance.
Her teacher thinks she has all the material it would take to go to those schools and have a successful career in theatre. I cannot tell you how it feels to have a son already in the bachelor of fine arts program at the University of Florida, a fourth year senior approaching his 5th year. And now this. Nolan has performed in Greece with his troupe last summer as part of the pre-Olympics festivities, and now this.
I am overly proud, bragging, and I know it.
Hugs to all, Susan
