Picture of the Sweater

Digital cameras are bad about picking up certain colors. When I tried to take a pic of a muted blue thing I made, it came out gray, no matter what lighting I used. I had to add some blue back in in the photo program I was using, which wasn't too much a bother, since I was already there to make the pic smaller anyway.

The weird thing is, I ended up taking pics of the sweater without the flash (which puts a yellow/brown tint on the pic) because the flash pics didn't pick up the details of the sweater. I even tried scanning pics of the front detail. Another thing I've noticed - the top part of the sweater was in focus, but the bottom was fuzzy - that makes me crazy.

I'm looking to buy a new, better camera with more megapixels and a longer optical zoom. 3mp and 3x OZ just doesn't cut it anymore. I have a beautiful old Pentax film camera with a bunch of lenses, so I'm used to having good pictures. But hey, since I bought the digital, I haven't bought any film. The digi cam is just too convenient - and hah! instant gratification - pictures immediately!

I have a couple of photo programs, but the one I use the most is Canon Zoombrowser EX. I haven't really figured out how to mess around with the colours, just the contrast and brightness. I know, I know, when all else fails, read the instructions (laugh).
