Practical approach

Mirjam -- as you know, I recently asked about sideways'vest patterns. I like the one in this link:

-- I might makethat, although I might omit the "curly fries" and just knit the vest abit longer. Or, if I wanted the curls, I think it would beconsiderably easier to crochet them than knit them -- they look justlike the curly legs on the crocheted octopi that my daughter makes -- Ithink she just does anywhere from 10-15 chain stitches and then worksback with double crochet, and they curl nicely.I did buy a pattern for a sideways vest that my yarn shop had, but ituses a smaller needle than I like to use and I don't want to mess withchanging all the instructions. I thought about using the "small" sizeinstructions with a larger needle and hoping it would come out to the"large" size, but I suppose there are many reasons why that's not agood thing to try.

Let us know what you decide to make!

I like that vest, but I think that I would leave off the curls.

My next knitting project for me , will be of the same kind of wool i just finnished ,,,, practical , no guague needed,,,,, hahah , but the pattern ? i am still playing with the idea of a sideways knitted vest ,,,,the pattern i remember having written down and calculated ,, just went to another space ,,,,and i feel more and more foe maybe combining knit and crochet,,,Fashion calls for all kinds of `improoved shrugs with better/longer frontal closures ,,,,,circles with slits and a fine delicate lace all around ,,, i have once cut a old sheet to see how this patern will suit me ???? and to help me decided about the proper place of the slits,, those shops [ the good ones, no i mean the costly ones !!!] have little `vestelings` , one nicer than the other ,,, so what shall i knit ,, what shal i knit ???? mirjam

That looks like a nice vest, I can see lots of possibilities for embellishing it, with or without the curly fries. Marie and the cats
