I made a pair of Jaywalkers for my sister using a wool/nylon blend, black and white variegated. The chevron stripes look really cool. However I've been making a pair using a cotton blend and they are too small. THey knit really tight for some reason. My new favorite pattern is Wendy's generic toe up sock. A very good book for leg patterns is Charlene Schurch's book - it has a green sock on the cover and I think (sorry can't find it right now) it's called something like Sensational Socks.

I appreiciate your input Alison. Wooly also said they knitted up tight. I'm thinking I'll make a sample sock for me & if it fits I'll make its mate. If it's too small, I may go up a needle size. I ordered some Opal solid & whenever it gets here, I'll give it a whirl.
