Saw the Yarn Harlot

A friend of mine is an avid reader of Stephanie Pearl-McPhee's blog, The Yarn Harlot. So she proposed that we drive up to Charlotte, NC after work yesterday to see her at the bookstore where she was promoting her new book. We had such a blast! She was hilarious and talked for about an hour. She then answered questions and told funny stories. Afterwards, she signed books and let everyone who wanted to take a photo with her holding the sock she is currently knitting. If you brought a project to the signing, then she would hold up your sock or project for the photo. She was just as nice as could be and didn't rush anyone. I'm really glad I took the road trip, even though it meant getting home at midnight. I had a hard time getting up this morning for work, and my friend (and co-worker) who went with me didn't even make it in to work today, as she had to drive another hour further to get home last night. What a blast it was! My husband totally did not get it. :-)

I saw her a few years ago when she came out our way. She is a very good public speaker and very funny. I enjoyed her as much as you did! ;>)

I wish she would come back this way.

You lucky thing, you!! I so want her to stop here in SoCal somewhere, but she doesn't have any stops scheduled...yet. I've been reading her blog for about a year now, and she's hilarious and does some mighty fine knitting, too.

Isn't she fabulous? She let me take a picture of her wearing her shawl when she was in Montreal last year.
