So I go into one of my favorite shops today to get size 0 Addi Turbos, and find that they are out of them. Grrr. I place an order. It's not like I'll get the edging done on this shawl for at least another six months, but I tend to like having the needles on hand. Call it the irrational fear that suddenly, Skacel will stop making them, but that's the way I am. While I was placing the order, I finally got the courage up (and the moment when she wasn't doing six things at once) to ask the owner about the single skein of cobweb weight shetland that's been thumbtacked to the wall for about a year now. Other than the fact that my query elicited a few grumbles about the "most difficult supplier we work with," it turns out that they are able to get me a good quantity of it, at a pretty decent price, and that I can pick from EIGHT colors! At twelve dollars per skein (well, ten after my Frequent Fiber Club discount), I ordered four each of two colors.
Now if I can only keep focused on the shawl I'm on right now! Maybe if I work my fingers to the bone, I'll have the edging completed by the time the needles come in?
