Sheila,

There is a book called the, "THE SENSATIONAL KNITTED SOCK".

It explains in a simple way how to convert a sock pattern to any weight of yarn. It is the only book you need to knit the basic to moderate sock pattern.

This sock calculator, "

Hi, Sheila. I see that you have already been pointed in the direction of free patterns. I have done socks on circulars, but prefer DPNs.

Welcome to RCTY, BTW.

Gauge multiplied by target's ankle measurement minus 10% so the socks don't fall down instantly.
