Status update on my thumb

Hi

Well it's been a week since surgery and the cast is gone back to wearing the brace.

I am still in lots of pain and have been told no knitting or crocheting for another two weeks. :(

I started cross-stitchng last night with my right hand so that hopefully will help the mood some. I haven't been doing too well emotionally but hopefully things will improve soon.

I start therapy next week so will see how things go from there. Thumb is pretty swollen right now and stiff but hav been told to start bending the thumb and moving the wrist again.

My sympathies. Are you able to read? (my dh always knows I am REALLY sick if I cannot be bothered to read) Please take care, if you don't do exactly what you are supposed to, the surgery might not heal up as well as it should. Remember, we are all hoping, praying, wishing and sending good thoughts for you.

Darlene,

I hope the swelling on your thumb will start going down quickly and you have much less pain and more movement.

Thanks Janise

I am going to keep trying to move the thumb and wrist a bit at a time and hopefully that will help the swelling go down.

Hi Darlene, I'm sorry you're having such trouble with your thumb (not knit??!!!). Glad you can do another textile art.

Hi Darlene! I'm so sorry that you are still in a lot of pain. What are those words that my great-aunt used to say to me when I was a child? ~ "This to shall pass". I never wanted to hear that because I was impatient about most things (as most children are, I suppose). What are you cross-stitching?

Hi

I do have a PDA but it doesn't have auto scroll. I have started reading a bit and I have started a cross-stitch which is also helping.

I am starting to feel a little better but know it's still some time before I get back to doing things that I love.

Tomorrow (Friday) I am actually going into the office for half a day for a meeting so that should help me as well. I can't type much or even write so full-time work right now is out of the question.

Take care

's taking some time to get into this but at least I am getting something done.

I am looking forward to getting back to knitting and crocheting but know that I have to take it easy when I get back to it.

Hi Darlene! Hmmmm, I was totally snoozing during my last post to you. I messed up the " This, too, shall pass" ....*sigh* Anyway, I've never cross stitched any kind of samplers but I do like them. The one that you working on looks really cool! How big is it? What size Aida are you using or are you doing it on linen?

Hi

I am using Linen and 32 count (16 stitches per inch) so it's going to be 12.5 inches square when it's finished. I have never done a sampler before so enjoying this one. At least it's all one colour so it's easy to do with the one good hand. It's going to take me quite a while to do but that's OK as I am enjoying it.
