Stitch 'N Pitch

The Mariners are having a Stitch N Pitch night at the ballpark for
tomorrow's baseball game. One of my friends is going with her
knitting. Here is the promo:
"The First Annual Stitch 'n Pitch Night presented by Pacific Fabrics &
Crafts
Bring your projects to the game, get help from the experts, view the
latest samples from your area yarn shops and meet other knitters all
while enjoying Mariners Baseball"

I look forward to seeing what the broadcasters and camera people do with this. I had thought about going, but our plans got royally screwed up. So I'll sit at home, stitching while ... hmmm ... who's pitching tomorrow? Okay - I'll sit at home, stitching while Gil pitches. There's a chance we might get a win, too!

I really love this idea. We have the Somerset Patriots Minor league nearby and this would be a great idea to pass along to the stadium. They host a lot of local groups, so why not us crafters!!

Hi Judy,
Oh, I'll have to check to see if the game is going to be broadcast over ESPN as I would love to see what the announcers make of it.
Hugs,

Take a look at the sponsor's website for more info -- I wish I could go but I didn't see it and didn't know until my friend told me about it this week (by that time DH had dinner and play plans all set.) I will check on any coverage and share it.

I didn't hear about it until yesterday and it is today. I called my LYS and they said they've know about it for 5 weeks. Too bad it didn't get better press. Hope it goes well. Here's a link to a newspaper article on it:

I stitch through baseball, basketball, and football seasons - and *I'm* the sports fan in the family! I just find the sports to be a soothing accompaniment to my stitching, whether it's knitting or cross stitch.
Looks like it would have been a fun event. The broadcasters were respectful, but I would have liked more fan shots of the knitters.
And too bad they didn't do it at the Blue Jays game tonight, eh? ;-D (For those who don't know, it went 18 innings.)
