Seattle Mariners Stitch 'N Pitch night report

We attended the very successful Stitch 'N Pitch night with the Mariners. Our major sponsor (Lantern Moon) from the Portland area, gave us a goodie bag that included a set of Latern Moon Circular needles, a silk bag, Knit Purl sock yarn, a knit magazine (from Yarn Garden), a hand woven reed knitting bag (super cool), a needle carrier, a knitting key chain, a LED flashing magnet pin, snacks, drinks and lots of wonderful association on the bus to and from the game. There were about 2,500 to 3,000 knitters in attendance and we received some very nice television coverage. In fact, Padishar Creel was interviewed because of being a male knitter. There were a few men scattered about our group but mostly non-knitting spouses. The President of Lantern Moon was knitting along with one of his male staff members.

I believe the Stitch 'N Pitch website will eventually post the television coverage we rec'd. I hope I represented the male knitters appropriately along with our wonderful knitting community in general.

Padishar, I had a meeting that night and didn't get home to the tv until it was almost over. I did catch the very end of an interview with a male knitter but have no idea if it was you or not. Did you see this blog full of pics from the event? Judy

Thanks for the link! I think I was the only guy they interviewed according to a couple of my friends that recorded some of the show. I was wearing a Mariners hat and shirt and mentioned one of the benefits of being a male knitter -- being with women!

What a kind observation Padisher !!!

reminds me of a Children`s doc who explained taht his father wanted him to be a ginecologust , but he thought a children`s doctor sees much younger women ,,,, he didn`t count on cultural and technological changes . mirjam
