Sunday coffee, RCTY and blog surfing

I won't be here early Sunday, so am starting the thread 'early'! It's approx. 1:10pm saturday, and of course I have coffee! My eyes are tired from knitting and computing. I'm also very near a 'pity-party' mode, which is very unlike me. Fran's shawl and Andy's scarf are going out Monday. Nan's shawl should be finished Tuesday. I miss my electronic rolodex, and am highly considering a new one... the choices sure are considerable since I bought mine eight years ago! Hugs, Noreen

I can relate to your problems with knitting with very dark yarn lately. I am making a black cotton sweater for DH and have found I cannot do it at night under artificial light -- Have to have sunlight on the work to see it. I should know better but he picked out the pattern and the yarn and in a weak moment, I agreed. It is going slowly as it is my least favorite WIP at the moment even though it is looking ok.

I just got back from our farmer's market in the mall parking lot. There were fresh bing cherries today! They are sooo good. I also picked up peas, asparagus and some little red potatoes. This is a good way to support some of our local farmers as well as to get fresher vegetables. The city got it started here last year and this year we are seeing more farm stalls as the word seems to have spread. There are also a few craft stalls - no yarn though. (I have been to markets in other places where there was yarn - but not here as yet.)

There is a small community theater within walking distance of our house. Tonight we will go over there with some neighbors to see a play. We want them to continue and so try hard to get to the plays. It is hard to make a go of it as a local theatre company.

The sun is playing hide and seek today -- a few showers and a bit of sun in between. Right now the sun is out again so off to the yard to do some outside work!!
