sunday morning coffee

Hi Everyone,

It's almost dark here in upstate NY, but it's not snowing so I won't complain. We have been having really mild temperatures, broke the high set back in the late 1800's yesterday and the day before that one set in 1951. This is January or so the calendar says. LOL

I hope to finish the second jiffy granny square afghan this evening, finished the first one last night. It's not a jiffy pattern, but that's the brand of yarn from Lion Brand. I made each square ten rounds, nine with one color yarn, last and the middle square with another. I'll put the pictures in my album this coming week.

I hope everyone had a great day and Ria and Nanci it was great to see both of you.

Hugs,

Nora

Hi

Well the hand isn't that great and I go and see the specialist tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully he will be able to explain the numbness that I have in the side of the thumb. Pretty concerned about the numbness and hopefully tomorrow I will hear good news.

Today has been a pretty rough day for me knowing that I don't know what is going to happen tomorrow.

I am back to crocheting and knitting like I did before but have to admit that typing and writing is still hard.

Thanks for asking. Darlene in Toronto

And the worst part is - I've got one mate nearly finished, it just needs a toe! I keep getting distracted by shiny new yarn!

Good evening to everyone, I must be the last one in the group to say hello on a Sunday. Katherine I hope that you feel better, was it something you ate. Do take care

Ria good to hear from you, and I know how it is to steal a quiet moment to have computer, and weaving room to myself. Otto has gone early to bed, he is helping out at a polling station tomorrow on election day. (Canada picks a new government tomorrow). His day starts very early.

The weather started out nice and sunny this the morning but changed to cloudy in the afternoon. Here and there the streets were wet, but I did not see it rain anywhere. We visited friends in the afternoon. Both women there, I know from our local Guild. Susan and her husband did a lot of sailing for many years. They told us about their adventures in middle America. How they lived on a shoe string and how much fun they had. Starting from Vancouver Island, they sailed through the Panama canal, and all around the coast on the Atlantic side. It is wonderful to be an armchair travel, certainly when they talk about 8 to 10 feet running seas. Not for me anymore. I sat and knitted socks for the oldest daughter at the same time and could imaging the wonderful places to went to see. Now it is nearly time to put the computer to bed.

Hope you all sleep well and have a great week

Well, I wasn't alone. In fact, we had plenty of help. But the assorted smells in the kitchen just made me ill. I am still not eating, and not feeling hungry. Dry toast is all I can handle again this morning. Actually, I can't even take that right now - maybe later. Yuck!

Thank you, Els. I am just avoiding food for a while. Usually that turns out to be the best thing for me.

Yes please - about three weeks' worth of time out, just me and the socks, and a few other projects, and cats coming and going as cats do. no housework, no kids, no husbands, no carpools, no errands...

Good morning Katherine, It is an early one for me, but I am sure you are already standing in front of the class. An upset stomach can also be a Menieres side effect, even when you do not get dizzy. It could also be from tension etc. Take it easy and be kind to yourself

A warm sunny breeze your way from BC

Thanks, Els. Actually, I had a workshop today, and tomorrow I am taking a sick day. I had soup and a sandwich earlier, and that seems to be settling all right, but I am not hungry. Odd, for me!
