sweaters

Does anyone know of a site that may have videos or lessons on hand knitting sweaters?? I wish to make one and the only time I tried, there were errors in the pattern where the sleeves were concerned and I became very disillusioned in making one. I knit a lot of lace and intricate things, but cannot get the hang of a darn sweater!!

Thanks in advance for any help. Theresa (Terri) Turnbull Knitaholic Extraordinaire Nova Scotia Canada

Some books

Elizabeth Zimmermann: Knitting Workshop Discusses the EZP method of calculating a sweater based on a master measurement for the finished chest. Various methods of producing no-sew fake-seam shoulder shapings.

Barbara Walker: Knitting from the Top Among other things, how to knit a sweater from the neck down.

Maggie Righetti: Sweater Design in Plain English Make any sort of sweater imaginable, including a few that shouldn't be worn by grown women. Excellent resource if you need to accomodate odd or ample body shapes and don't care to do so with a potato sack.

What Wooly said. Those books are the best!

You can go to DIY.com or HGTV.com. Those two have video inserts of some of the stuff they talk about on Knitty Gritty. Pam-Doggirl3 My Site:
