Thanks to you, I have finally gotten through the first cuff. Is it me or are Ms. Lavold's charts very confusing? Even after I got the technique down, I kept loosing track of the pattern. ( I guess I must own that problem ). But these patterns certainly are gratifying once mastered. The sweater that I covet is "Ragna" on page 52. May as well prepare that padded cell now if I decide to attempt that one though. This time you folks have saved what ever is left of my sanity. THANKS!

Excellent!!!!! When I went back and looked at the charts again, I think what is confusing is the way that she increases for the cables. Instead of increasing around the width of the garment, she is increasing/decreasing within the cables themselves. This is not a common technique used in American patterns. A suggestion to help with the charts, photocopy the ones that you are using and make them bigger. I use one of the stands that are for keeping track of lines of text when you are typing, they have a plastic arm that slides up/down the page and some of them magnify. You can find them at most office supply stores.
