Yarn easter eggs

Sep 25, 2007 4 Replies

My grandchildren love to play with an egg dish and collection of wooden eggs I have. However, the dish is ceramic and they are young so they tend to put the eggs too firmly into the dish. I was thinking of using some of my left over yarn bits to knit or crochet some softer eggs. I'm looking for a pattern for eggs about the same size as jumbo chicken eggs. Does anyone have a pattern like this?

How about a knitted and felted basket to put the wooden eggs in? A Pi Bed made small should do:
