Yarn find

Hi Everyone!

This weekend in San Angelo we are having our annual Christmas at Old Fort Concho. I had the afternoon off Friday and was able to be there when they opened at 3 p.m. There are merchants set up in the various Fort buildings, food vendors, and re-enactors as well as evening activities like cowboy poets and a dance. For the first time ever I was able to buy some apricot kolaches made by the monks at the Carmelite Hermitage in a nearby town. They sell out early. Also, I got some handmade goatsmilk soap and two hanks of hand-dyed alpaca yarn. I will keep one bar of soap for myself and give the rest away as gifts. Also, one hank of yarn will go to my sister-in-law with a book on knitting. She is just learning. Her yarn has a lot of hot pink in it with some orange and yellow and is a sport weight baby alpaca. The hank I will keep for myself is a DK weight royal platinum alpaca (whatever that is) and has every color in the rainbow. Both hanks have approximately 250 yards.

I don't know what I will make with my yarn, but I am open to suggestions!

I had no idea what a kolach was until I looked it up on the internet just now. Yummm, they sound fabulous! :o)

Do you have enough for socks? Or maybe a small tuck-in scarf?
