OT: Sophie is Cone-Free!

This morning, I drove(!) the mile to the veterinarian's office, so Sophie could have her stitches removed and lose the Elizabethan collar which has been causing so much amusement this past week. Her eye is now unstitched, open and looks terrific, all her nasty little dog warts are gone, and her gums have healed perfectly. Yay!

I had bracelets on hand for the vet and her staff, and they were so delighted to get a gift that isn't food. Seriously, there had to be six cheeze logs and assorted sausages on the counter. Heck, if I'm giving food - it's gonna be chocolate!

Sophie now has a clean bill of health, and hopefully they won't have to see her again for a year, when she gets a tune-up. (points, plugs, tires rotated)

Obligatory Bead Reference: I had made a whole slew of right angle weave bracelets, all with different embellishments. I'm getting to the point where I can weave one of those suckers in about 15 minutes while watching TV. When I got to the vet's office, I laid them on the counter for the vet and techs to choose their favorite. One of the techs exclaimed "How did you think of so many different kinds of bracelets?"

Hee hee. I didn't let on that they are all the same kind of bracelet, in the same stitch, with just minor adjustments on the types of beads.

That's one of the things I love about beadwork -- that exactly the same design can look so different just by using different beads to execute it! (The principle holds for stringing as well as bead-weaving.)

Glad Sophie is doing well.

You seem to have the bracelet making down to a fine art Kathy. The bracelets looked real good on the picture trail.

Glad to hear Sophie is okay again.
