Re: OT: Story - Multitasking

Ah someone after me own heart. Although I'm the only packrat in my house. But yeah it seems there are better things to be doing.

Ahhhh! I know what you mean! When I finally lose it, and he looks my way, it's to tell me I am overreacting. If I calmly and nicely mention something to him, he pretty much tunes it out. Ken is the absentminded professor. He doesn't understand why I get so agitated. I told him just today that it's because I am sick of hearing him say things like "I forgot", "I just didn't think about it", "I didn't think it would take that long", and "It's not that bad". I adore my husband - he is so much better than a lot of guys I have known and hear about, so I really can't complain too much. At least he *does* cook, can be romantic, and he treats me like an equal partner whom he respects, which is more than I can say for many men these days.

well . . . Johnny USED to be that way. he has done a lot of growing up this last year.

otoh, when we married, Jamie looked at me and said, "Mom, do you realize you just married JOHNNY?"

AND her current boyfriend is another Johnny.

which is REALLY weird!

Sudafed is the only thing that seems to help, for me. but dust makes all the allergies ten times worse, for me.

of course, dh swears the Sudafed makes me cranky. otoh, i'm even crankier when i can't breathe.

If you and he have discussed the issue and reached an accomodation, then my previous comments no longer apply. It's the "sneak behind the back" factor that pushes my buttons.

Well, Pete isn't good at helping me keep the house clean. But he helps when asked, and never complains if the house is messy because I didn't clean it and neither did he. He helps with cooking, is romantic and devoted and treats me as an equal. The house is cleaner when he goes camping with his son. But he is such a healing, nurturing person, I readily forgive the mess.

Assorted random thoughts on housekeeping...(mind you it's 12;30 am as I write this so this may read in a VERY random and assorted way, lol)!

*I'm beginning to believe that dressers are optional - seems to me clothes go from hamper to washer to dryer to basket to body - then repeat cycle! lol....

Think I need a cupa (only need to decide of WHAT! grin) and then a bit of sleep so this concludes my muttering meandering on the mundane and mucky topic of housework et al.....

parting thought - Remeber when we (or at least I did) whined when our mum would ask that we take our laundered, ironed, folded laundrey up to our room? When we stood in front of a fully stocked fridge and complained there's nothing I like in here?! Ah for the days when clean laundry and food appeared - all by itself! If' I'd had the sense to know what a pain in the ass both those tasks are I'd have CERTAINLY appreciated those days more! :-)

I adored Quentin Crisp. We corresponded for YEARS, and actually lunched together twice. His apartment in New York was amazing. LOL! Looked like my grandma's place.

I asked him once why on earth he was listed in the phone book, as his phone rang ALL the time. He said, "Well then, how ELSE will people be able to call me?" He loved hearing from strangers.

You need a sign in your house... You may write your name in the dust but please do not date it. Diana, with a collection of fine and rare, antique dust

Make that two brothers. I swear the man is blind to mess and garbage. He can walk past the same pile of *stuff* day after day and act surprised when its still there when I ask him to move it. This is a bright man. Loving, kind, respectful, an equal partner...except where house work comes in to the question. I have come to believe they just dont see it... or.. is it a plot and they just choose not to??? Diana
