RCTNers, please forgive me for advertising, but I did want to let you all know I'm now open for business.
You probably don't remember, but about a year and a half ago, I solicited all y'all's opinions about what you wanted in a chart and I appreciate the feedback. I incorporated most of the suggestions.
On the information portion, I put a shopping list (separate from the symbols), stitch count, all the information about the model, and the fabric size you would need to buy (since I find myself unable to add in my head when I'm standing there in the middle of a store looking at a piece of fabric).
For charts with backstitching, I put the cross/fractional stitch chart on one side of the paper and the backstitching chart on the other side of the paper (although I contacted the software company and they said it wasn't possible to gray out the symbols for the back stitch chart, so I made the backstitch lines heavier).
I made the cover out of cardstock, got 4x6 postcards of the model photograph (which I got professionally done), and slid the whole shebang into a crisp cellophane envelope.
So anyway, I guess this post is more of a thank you for taking the time last year to help with your suggestions. I also want to thank Jim Cripwell for his excellent explanation of figuring out how much floss you need for a project. Actually, I have several references linked on the site and I'm always taking contributions to the tips'n'tricks section (because one can never have too many of those).
Now I must get back to the business of transcribing medical records because I still need to make a living.
