The Insane Hexagon Project - update

a few weeks down the line from my starting day and I have scraps arriving from all over the place! I'm at about 1200 now (guesstimate) with only 3 yes THREE duplicates so far! I am amazed! I was expecting far more duplicates to arrive. it just shows what a diverse taste we quilters have :-)

slowly but surely I am getting more and more hexagons made and joined - the plan has changed from making all the colours into groups of 3 to making each colour group into it's own specific shape - this will make the setting more of a challenge but that's where filler hexagons will come in to play - I have no idea what colour they will be, that is something for later, maybe I will go mad and use some cotton lame for that...

well mad isn't more than a step away from insane

new photo's are up on my yahoo photo's page - in the Insane Hexagon Project folder

Jessamy, I mentioned your project to a quilting friend today and she said she would gladly send you some fabric, so we decided that I would get hold of details and I'd annouce this Monday at group, and have people hand them in to me in a months time at group, then I'd post to you. So, I need an uptodate list of what fabrics you are seeking and not seeking, plus, your address, my email is as it is in the headers.

thanks! it's amazing what one can do in the super long ad breaks we have on Dutch TV and during the wait while my DS#1 has his swimming lessons 2 times a week :-)

I started a new applique project this morning and I pulled out all my bits and pieces. It's a wallhanging , pattern called Fabric Fairway. I can certainly help you out so if you would like to send me your smail mail I can get them off to you. My email is as is.

Gotta love those takealong projects don't you??? I've just started one for one of the DDs beds. It's a bit of applique so I've packed the applique squares into a cute gift bag with the pattern, small scissors, and matching threads and needles and now I force myself to take a lunch break so I can do some stitching. Very good therapy, too

absolutely! and they have the added bonus of being doable anywhere - even on the sofa with feet up or in the garden watching the kids play or at the playground when the kids are playing with the other kids there :-) yep I sit back and let my kids learn how to play with other kids with me there to stop bigger kids from bullying or to make sure the marble games are done fairly and that they are *not* for keepsies as I do feel that an 8 - 10 year old should not play keepsies with a 5 year old who is just learning, the huge marbles they play with are 1 euro each (over 1 US $) and I am not made of $$ unbelievably
