Update...... off topic, sort of. <VVBG>

It is here!!!! The inheritance money is in the bank, the mortgage back payments have been made. Whew..... We won't lose the house or have to move!!!! I have also registered for Houston, both Market and Festival, even a couple of classes. (though not the ones I really wanted, sigh. Next year.)

Things are improving. Now to see if we can manage health insurance again. sigh. Don't want to get it started if we will lose it too soon to do much good.

Now, just a waiting game with SS about the disability. And hoping my shoulder/arm/hand will quit aching/tingling like it has been the last couple of weeks.

Thanks so much to everyone who has been sending positive thoughts/prayers and all. If you can keep 'em up for a bit more we should be fine and dandy.

Sending out as much positive energy as I can to those who need it,

Pati, in Phx

Yay!

This is really scary. Alarm bells rang in my head when I read that line. If you haven't seen a doc about it please see one ASAP.

You got 'em! Glad to see things looking up for you, so thanks for the update.

HOORAAAYYYY!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you Pati! I've been in dire straits myself before and am always flirting with financial disaster, it truly sucks. It's so good to hear that things are on the upswing for you at last. You surely deserve it. Prayers and happy thoughts are continuing for your continued improvement.

Glad things are getting better for you. And yes, please have a doctor check on the arm. It sounds scarey. Barbara in SC

I am so glad things have finally settled down for you. Some of the tension because of just life probably didn't help with the pain either. Now relax and just enjoy the cool weather. Jeanbaby.

Thanks, to you and everyone.

Wanted to get into one of Carol Doak's classes, but settled for a sit and sew class with Riboflavin Glover, integrating patchwork designs into log cabins... on Sat. Also a few other things.

Not sure I got them, until I get the confirmation, but they were open when I signed up.

They were pretty fast sending my confirmation when I signed up. I'll be in class all day Saturday, learning more about machine quilting from Philippa Naylor. I saw her at the Sunday Sampler last year and was very impressed. Friday evening I have a class with Susan Cleveland (Piping Hot Curves), and I'm really looking forward to that one, too, since I love her Piping Hot Binding technique and use it so often. :)

Both of the women who'd been planning to room with me this time have had to cancel for reasons beyond their control, but I was lucky and found another woman from our guild who wanted to share a room. She's very nice, and it's her first trip to Houston, so she's really excited -- as am I, even though it's not my first!

I am hoping to get my confirmations soon. But since it is the end of the pre event sign-up I expect it may take a bit longer. BTW that should be Flavin Glover, not RiboFlavin... sigh. I am teaching a piping hot curves class before I go, I plan to bring my sample and hope to see Susan Cleveland and show her. would like to get permission to teach the technique with our guild traveling teacher program. But we have to have written permission from the author to do so. I am planning on staying with Tina, again. She has already confirmed my "room reservation". Although she may be working and not able to attend as much as she would like to. We will see what happens. Hope we get a chance to meet up at some point(s) during the show.

Meant to ask.... I have signed up for the Sunday Sampler, how did you like it last year? (In fact I may have signed up for it twice...sigh) Looking forward to lots of new info and fun. Pati, in Phx

Ooh! I've had a class from Philippa Naylor. It was so very encouraging. She is such a nice person. She said that stippling should be like handwriting - different for everyone. I told her that I could work best if I came to points and swung back again. She said - fine! if your 'trademark' is pointy stippling, that's just great. . In message , Sandy writes

I love it when a teacher says things like that! Thanks for the testimonial, Pat -- I'm really looking forward to her class. :)

I did like it last year, but every year is different, depending on which teachers are in it. I haven't signed up for it yet, but I may do so when I get there; it all depends on my mood at the time. ;)
