OT: Bragging? on my DS

My sweet, loving, caring, 5 yr old DS told me the sweetest thing yesterday. He wanted to know how many presents he had under the Christmas tree.

Me: Well, I know you have about 4 down there now. DS: *slightly pouting, saddened* I was wanting 100 presents. Me: Wow, 100 presents. That's a lot. *wondering just what he would do with

100 presents* DS: I wanted 100 presents so I could give them to all the other kids who won't get presents.

Ok...now that you have to find a tissue, you can go back to your day.

Awwww! How sweet! Even if you don't have a picture this is truely something you need to scrapbook. You can take a picture of the christmas tree with the four presents under it if you need a picture.

What a thoughtful little guy. I agree with Chrissy, it is something to scrap.

That's awesome - and says a lot about him and his family! :)

I agree, it's a great story to scrap. you may wish to remember it when he's a teenager, and making you nuts. :)

Thanks for sharing, that's a great stroy!

Deb - just a thought, but maybe you could take this as an oppurtunity to make it even more of a lesson - maybe take him to buy some toys, then take him to donate to Toys for Tots - I know our local firemen collect in our area. And then, you also have further oppurtunity for pictures, and a great story!

I'm very proud of him. MIL was amazed that the comment came from a 5 yr old. DH's response was "That's a 5 yr old who's experienced hands on missions." Which he's right.

He's a sweet kiddo, isn't he? It's amazing how innocent and loving children can be.

That's our plan. We'll take the kids shopping this evening and let them each buy a toy to donate. We've missed what they call "Toy Hill" here, but there's still drop-off points.
