I doubt it would whip, at least not stiffly. I also don't think you could add egg and have it successfully whip, but I might be wrong.
You might adding a bit of brandy and rum extracts and a dash of nutmeg along with the sugar. Essentially, this is the flavor.

The LorAnn people make an amazing array of flavors and extracts, including Eggnog. You might try using some of their flavoring in your sweetened cream and them whip it. Here is a link:
Yeah, it didn't work. Looks like I'll have to go the flavoring route that you and Vox discuss.
Thx all.
Still sounds like a good idea, though. I'm also going to try flavoring the whipped cream as I suggested. Has me wanting some now.

Vox,
Just ordered some flavorings, including the eggnog. I'll let you know what happens.

Please do. The flavoring seemed like the best way to flavor the cream without changing its ability to be whipped. I haven't had the eggnog flavor, but the products that I have had were good.
Hey folks, You can get liqueurs flavored like eggnog: there's a German Eierlikor and a Dutch Advokaat.
Good luck, Jeff
I recently watched Emeril on Food Network and made an egg nog like you might be describing. It was quite nice looking -- very whipped!
Here is the recipe.
Regarding the eggnog recipe of Emeril's that I just sent the url for, I see also that it this program demonstrating the egg nog recipe will be on again December 20 at 4PM. eastern time. (tomorrow!) It is well worth watching if you have the food channel. I haven't seen an egg nog like this -- old fashioned egg nog. Looks great. Dee
Thanks Dee, I'll give him a viewing.
Enjoy!
