98% OT - Did anybody miss me?/patter of tiny (webbed) feet...

Hi all! Just got back from a week in sunny St Ives (Cornwall, UK)!

We went with mum & herboyfriend (now fiance! yay!) and stayed in a lovely appartment on the seafront

- premier one, pic on theright was mine & Dug's bed!) (and here's 1% on-topic bit) - right next doorto the bead shop!

shows theappt circled at the end). I couldn't believe it - couldn't have picked abetter place to stay! We went to the Tate St Ives

where there was a Barbara Hepworthexhibition

which wasfab - I loved the more abstract sculptures. I got a book about Art Nouveaufrom the shop, which has a section on jewellery which I shall be droolingover! We also went to a glass blowing studio in a small village nearby - Iloved this!

We watched a vasebeing made, and it was even cooler because I understood loads about what washappening and why, and how the glass felt as he was working it.We also went up St Michael's Mount

on a boat trip to the seal island

And of course Ishopped! Bought a fab brass frog, various other bits and bobs, and of courseplenty of Cornish fudge! (Other 1% on-topic bit:) I also spent a fair amountof time on the beaches, picking up bits of sea glass and cool sheels &pebbles, which I am going to make into a bracelet and/or necklace, and Ibought a Cornish Piskey charm to dangle from the clasp. The patter of tiny (webbed) feet bit - I am now proud mommy to 3 AfricanDwarf Frogs! We saw them at a garden/aquatics centre in Bath last time wevisited mum and I had been preparing for our new arrivals ever since! Gotthe tank all set up before we went and went there this morning to get thefrogs - we have one "normal" ADF and 2 albinos - then drove all the way hometo introduce the froggies to their new home! So I am a happy bunny now! Knackered (taking this week out to recover from the travelling and the overdoing-it!), but chilled and really happy. :) Will be uploading photos of both Cornwall and the froggies.

Big hugs to all, and vibes incoming to anyone in the way of hurricane Isabel (I saw it on the news and hoped none of you were in its way, or that if you were, that you were ok). Now I'm off to wade through 1150 emails (mostly spam) and gawd-knows-how-many thousands of newsgroup posts... LOL

Helen. x

p.s. Carol, I have a Special Delivery parcel waiting for me at the sorting office - yay! Off to get it first thing in the morning!

I missed you Helen, I thought all the UK contingent had deserted. Sounds like you had a good time. Shirley
