My grandparents knew the Cornings in SF before they moved to the midwest. I should ask my mother more about them.

I adore Corning. When I was little we went there on a weekend visit at least

3 times. Maybe that's where I got the glass bug. I was so thrilled to attend my very first Society of Glass Beadmakers' Gathering there. Just seemed so RIGHT. Great place for a road trip, and their classes are fantastic!

i didn't do any of that part. didn't know anything about beading 30+ years ago. we went to the museum and the Stuben Glass Works. **sigh**
