AD: Added some amethyst and green seed beads...

Hi peeps, I got my website working again. I switched hosts so that I could have a "real" shopping cart, but that will have to wait until December. Only 16 days until our first Christmas sale :-D

I added some green and purple seed beads to my sales page here:

I ordered a more modest amount for my Christmas projects this time :-D Last night I finished up a black and white project, and I'll try to post photos soon. It was inspired by a Bead Style article, but I don't feel very confident with how it looks. I can always restring, I guess! I bought some neato beads from Beazu for my Christmas necklace - they're green and red round beads with sparkles in them. They're a tad on the cheesy side, but they do sparkle :-) Best, Christine

Christine -- CHRISTMAS is a tad on the cheesy side these days (don't get me started) so your necklace should fit right in!!!! LOL -- As long as you like it, that is what matters.

I didn't know you were going to continue to sell seeds. Yummy. I will go look.

Christine, I like sparkle. In fact I adore sparkle.

More sparkle, that's my motto. Mike doesn't believe in sparkle but he's conservative and very very British but I want MORE SPARKLE.

So, have fun with your Christmas sparkle!

I plan on buying some reading glasses, and I found some with crystals on them! Whoo hoo. More sparkle, I say. More S P A R K L E!!!

Hee hee, that's true! Our neighbours go nuts with the inflatable Santa Claus every year, so I shouldn't have anything to worry about!!

I saw some fibre optic Christmas bell charms at Beazu, but I couldn't think of anything to make with them without buying a bunch of fibre optic beads to go with them :-) They were pretty cute though - with some snowflake charms, they'd make a nice necklace or bracelet.

I didn't think I was going to either :-D I wanted to have some green for the sales too - when you have red, white and silver on the table, you just know people are going to ask for green too :-) I kind of like selling stuff too! My friend at the art college thinks I should open my own store. These are a nice Christmas green, my other green seed beads were too yellow-green.

I'm on a total amethyst kick now - back in summer I was stuck in the blues for some reason. Now I have amethyst gem chips, Miyuki drops, Czech cubes and a mish mash of other beads. I wonder what colour will be next?

I can definitely agree with that! It's so eyecatching and exciting, actually.

Oh cool! That's a nice find. I found out last week I need glasses and frame shopping has been a little disappointing so far. A friend of mine bought a bunch of flat back Swarovski rhinestones (from

and she's planning on putting them on her cellphone. She got the smallest size, I think, 5ss. She says the entire package fills the size of a quarter. I can't wait to see it. Have you ever tried something like that? Best, Christine

I ended up gluing most of them to my fingers or the q-tips rather than anything I was putting them on.

Here's the link to the reading glasses:

Almost irresistible. Now I have to try some out and see what magnifications I need for close-up work. I made a forepart (fancy underskirt) for a Tudor gown once, and wore it to an event in Indiana on a sunny day. It had over two gross of rhinestones on it, in crystal and black diamond, along with thousands of seed pearls and crystal beads, just on the part that showed. Apparently when the sun hit it I looked like a walking disco ball.

*happy sigh*

I do like my sparkle.

OH in time, they will all catch you - you'll be riding on a veritable RAINBOW of beads, and you'll wonder where they all came from. It's all part of our plan for world domination! hahahahahahahaha

LMAO Karleen, you're so right!!! I'll have to remember this post six months from now when I'm knee deep in beads. Already I think I'm going to ask my husband for one of those nuts and bolts compartment cabinets for Christmas :-)

Yes BUT that will only do for a while - I have FIVE, no wait SIX, of those full of beads and findings.... PLUS 75 shoeboxes full of beads and finished jewelry, PLUS piles of stuff all over PLUS 2 rollie carts full of stuff. MU HA HA HA HA HA!!! See it will only get worse from here on! LOL

I have a shoebox full for every color, plus seven shoeboxes of bugles and other odds and ends, four rolling carts (one just for polyclay and tools), six huge totes filed with glass and semi-precious, and two flat storage cases for my lampwork. AND I'm going to two bead shows today.

Hello, I'm Linda2 and I'm a beadaholic.

I have a whole empty studio just waiting to be filled with the love that beads can bring!

LOL.

Poor Mike, he'll never be able to make enough beads to keep me truly happy. But he can try.

Ack Karleen! I must see pictures of this legendary stash ;-) I wonder if those cabinets come chest height and mounted on wheels :-D I have one of those...can't think of the name, but I got it from Costco....4' high drawers on wheels and it's crammed full of paper. I wonder if they make those compartment cabinets in that size :-D

My compartment cabinets aren't on wheels, they are on top of my book shelf, half of which is full of beading books, the other half full of jewelry and assorted art supplies. I do have 3 rolly carts full of beads & supplies and one other cart (that used to be a record rack) full of paint, glue and papers. As soon as I get my bead room clean enough to actually WALK thru, I'll take some pics. hahahahahha

I'm not even gonna go into my basement and what's in there, it's too scary even for Halloween! LOL

Hi Su,

Sorry it took me such a while to get back to your post, I have hadn't much RCB time lately! Your glasses are very cute :-) The rimless style is the one I want. I can't take regular reading glasses because one eye is different from the other, unfortunately.

I can't imagine all the time it must have taken to apply all those rhinestones, but the end result would be definitely worth it! I like how you described yourself as a walking disco ball :-D There's nothing wrong with liking that much sparkle at all :-)
