John's been trying to get me hooked on B5 forever. I never wanted to watch it too much in syndication, as it's a continuing story and I didn't want to miss anything or get confused. It could happen.
So John bought season 1 and 2 on DVD, and all I want to do is watch them. LOL!
ME ME ME!!!! I'm a JMS groupie, too. Straczynski (I think I mangled that one) used to hang out, in person, on the AOL Sci Fi forum. So did the camera/effects guy, whose name I totally forget. They almost single-handedly created a following just by being accessible and frequently expounding upon storylines, teasing the hell out of very willing victims, and basically being really cool guys. I've always thought it was very cool the way he had every moment of the 5-year seasons planned before anything ever went into production.
DH is a tremendous fan and we watched them all the way through. I thought it was pretty good.
Then we watched Farscape all the way through. B5 was a little dimmed.
(Some of the people are just too goody-goody and the earth and other politics is a little flat sometimes in B5. But some really cool charectors and situations. BTW JMS ("creator" of B5) seems to be totally nuts and a conspiracy theorist. He writes back on the B5 email list sometimes and DH has shown me some of it :) ).
Watching all the episodes in close proximity to another for a story-arched show is the BEST btw.

Have you read the books? Written by the same guys, and in the great tradition of Hitchhikers Guide, the books only mildly resemble the show :). They are great science fiction as well as great humor.
yeah - it's a little corny at times - a few of the characters are really "take offs" of other sci fi series characters if you pay attention to their behaviors...
