books for dichroic glass or lampwork beadmaking?

Arg! I would love to have a glass blower down the road. I would have to drive about 80 miles to be in glass heaven like that.

Hi Lynette,

There is a huge range of talent on this group. Of course, most of the photo links are from people who have developed both their bead skills and photography skills -- and often marketing skills too.

We also have several illnesses and disabilities here, and are an excellent support group.

It's expensive to get into lampwork, including the need for studio space and the necessary safety precautions. I don't know if there would be any health risks for you. But before investing in this, I suggest you take a class in a studio somewhere.

I know I love metal smithing and making metal jewelry. In the class at the university, however, I found that I just have too poor dexterity to do that sort of work.

You might also look into polymer clay beads.

Do you do bead work at this time?

Feel free to email away. snipped-for-privacy@bellsouth.net. I'm going for a Remicade treatment today. I'm a little nervous because I have had these allergic type reactions everytime but we are able to finish the infusion. It really seems to help me too!

I haven't started making beads yet. A local bead store had a class this past weekend but I had a wedding to attend. I'm hoping I can get in the next one. I've been searching other places to take a class too. I've bought a video and Sooz's links list and A-Z list have been very helpful. Seriously, these ladies are so talented. I've *won* several freebies from various artists and I've been so excited. Starlia, I've made one of your beads into a bracelet and got many compliments on it the other day.

Believe me, I've learned alot by listening. Plus, I've learned that many of you are just plain crazy! : ) You all have made me laugh on many occasion. I'll try to participate more though. If money were in excess around our house, I would have already started buying tools and trying it out. But for now, I may have to wait for Christmas presents!

Me too! I am awed by what I see here! I want to buy more and make some myself too. I have just started playing with polyclay, pouring over links, assembling a few tools and wishing I could make beautiful beads right now, no learning curve! LOL

.Stephanie.

Gotta Question? Search RCB:
