Olympic color rods? *Frustrated*

I am having major problems with my frit orders from Olympic Color Rods, and I am wondering if anyone elese has run into problems with them.

I ordered a couple of kilos of frit a month back, and never received it... three weeks later, I said "huh, I wonder where my frit is?" and emailed them. Kevin emailed me back with tracking info, and according to FedEx, they had delivered it the day after I placed my order, a Thursday, at 7:58 am. Well, we were home that morning... no delivery. Of course it was signature not required, so there's no way for me to prove it! Kevin, who hasn't answered a single email after the first one, said (when I called him to follow up since he wouldn't respond to my email) that he would have FedEx do a "driver follow up". Three or four days went by... I emailed Kevin... no reply. I called him, and he said it would "take a while".

OK, so I sit on my hands until something happens, and in the meantime I'm out $98 with no assurance that I will ever see it OR my frit.

Then problem #2 arises; I recommended OCR to a bunch of people for the R-108, which was on backorder at the time. I had my order in already, and they said it would be about a month.

Well, everyone else received theirs earlier this week. Mine hasn't showed up. NOT HAPPY. I had asked Kevin to change the shipping method because I don't trust FedEx to deliver anymore, but no method I'm aware of takes this long from Seattle to Portland, unless they sent it by foot courier.

I know their prices aren't great, but they're close and have always delivered promptly before. Has anyone else had this kind of problem with them? Why don't they answer emails? Is Kevin the owner? He always is the one to answer the phone. I want to talk to someone else there but there's not much point in asking if he owns it.

Last, I think I'm going to switch to either East Bay Batch or Spruce Pine Batch. Does anyone have experience with those companies? Any other recommendations?

Thanks!

I got great service, after your recommendation of them as having what I wanted.

Kevin was a little slow to get back on the emails, but he did get back. They called me to let me know that it was backordered and I had a nice conversation with the woman who called who also consulted a guy in the background about other colors. I don't know if it was Kevin or not but they seemed very knowledgeable.

My 'backorder' came in about 2 weeks...not the month to 6 weeks they estimated.

As for FedEx, I don't hold anything against them personally but they driver that does our neighborhood consistently delivers our neighbors packages to us. One day I ran the driver down to make him take it over there himself. I've considered keeping the packages until they came and hunted it down themselves, to teach them a lesson. My time (walking it an acre over) is just as important as theirs (dropping it closest to the street, at my house, as they can). So in that example, you might have a lazy driver and an annoyed neighbor. :o) It still sucks.

I'd love to hear your experiences with other companies though and their pricing too.

I haven't dealt with them but I was considering doing so. I'm going to wait to hear if you get these problems resolved. Heck...you are one of my SUPPLIERS (hehehe) and I would rather have service like yours.
