Just got a news bulletin that there was a strong earthquake near San Francisco a short while ago. Are all of you RCB-er's okay?

I must've slept through it. How big was it? ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce

5.8 or so, with a bunch of 5.0-ish aftershocks. The epicenter was north of San Luis Obispo, right along the CA/NV border.

It was small in relative terms. Enough to shake a little but I doubt there was a lot of damage. 6.0 earthquakes are kinda fun when no one gets hurt.

It breezed past me completely. What was the epicenter? ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce

Please be assured -- earthquakes are not like hurricanes or tornadoes. We have hundreds of earthquakes all the time, and they do almost nothing --- or nothing. Even the bigger ones do almost nothing, despite the little old ladies, out-of-towners, and newcomers who will tell any reporter, "It shook me outta my dad-gum brain!"

We've had maybe 4 in the 20th century that did major damage. There've been 4 hurricanes in the past few **months** that did far worse than any of our earthquakes, with the exception of the SF 1906 quake -- which was actually almost all fire damage, by the way. ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce

It was in Parkfield, Sooz. There was a 6.0 and a 5.something not long after it. I have friends in Fresno who felt it. I kinda miss living in earthquake land.

well, yes. at least i'm okay. at least, i THINK i'm okay. i haven't had more that 4 or 5 hours sleep/night for weeks. i can't remember the last meal i had that wasn't on the run. my boss is ticked at me. i can't remember the last time i ate more than a meal and a half in one day.

and except for the boss being ticked at me . . . and that fact that Sunday night i'm going to fall on my face for a week, i'm probably doing as well as can be expected!

Why is Oran ticked?

he's not. sorry, Tina. he's a mentor - not a boss. the boss lady is the one i do transcription for. she's not real happy that i'm taking off for most of a week to get ready for the show this weekend. **shrug** but she can't b*tch too much - she has a necklace she wants me to fix.

7 castings tonight [this morning] 7 more in about 10 hours. and i'm so tired i'm falling over.

i'll check back in on Monday or Tuesday if i'm still standing!

Oh. Well that's OK then. As long as Oran is happy with you, to hell with your boss. Your profession/calling is more important than your job.

AMEN! now, please, someone tell the buying public that this weekend!

30,000 plus are expected over two days. that's more than the entire population of this town!
