Coffee

Shall we do coffee at noon tomorrow? Pete has an appointment with the pain clinic at 3 pm tomorrow.

Bummer! I love coffee! French roast, freshly ground, stronger than espresso! And I like noon - noon is good... Ok for you then, I won't come. Hope things go well for Pete.

Well, it's 11:00 and my water pipes seem to be frozen. That takes precidence over coffee with April, so I guess I will have coffee here with you after all.

I make my coffee like you do Christy. I get my coffee beans from an importer here, who roasts them (especially French Roast) 3 days a week. I keep them in the freezer, and grind them every morning, freshly for each pot, using about 3 times the normal amount. When we travel we take along a little espresso maker.

And did you say gingerbread, Sarajane? I love gingerbread, also ginger root, crystalized ginger, ginger tea.......

And Sooz and Diane, too. You're welcome here anytime for coffee.

(big sigh) Such nice friends on rcb.

I'll second that!

And I'd love to join you all, but I don't drink coffee. Can I bring tea?

You bet!! There's already Ginger tea to go with the gingerbread--and yes, I make it from scratch with chopped fresh ginger as well as the powdered, and wild yeast starter that we grow. Good thing I made a big pan full! Sarajane

You're killing me! Fresh whipped cream to go with that? When can I come over and what state do you live in, anyway?

Mmmmm! Sounds so good! I haven't had gingerbread since I was a kid. And I've never had ginger tea, although I've thrown the idea around to make ginger ale...

If ginger isnt your cup of tea... sigh... Im so bad...I have a chocolate cake in the oven as we speak. It will be frosted with chocolate frosting. None of your box mix fluff here, this is moist, tender cake, creamy, never crusty frosting... Save me some of the gingerbread please... it may take a while to lick the chocolate frosting bowl clean... Diana

Well, I will just fuel the jet up. But first I will nip up to the tea merchants and pick up some Earl Grey and other varieties. Some Scottish shortbread and while the jet is being fuelled I will bake a batch of Butter Shrewsbury biscuits. Shirley
