Oooooh, paraffin treatments are HEAVEN. I've only had one once and can't wait until I can get one again. There's just nothing like it.

Oooooo...luxury treatment! I might just do that. I think a friend of mine actually has one of those gizmachees and the wax. Thanks!
Hi Susan:
I hope you remember me. I used to post here. I mostly lurk now.
Anyway, the -30 plus wind weather is pretty brutal. Work is pretty slow this week and I'm glad because it means I don't have to go out much. I've been working away on my beading (I'm finishing up Xmas ornament covers), and my resume (a different sort of expression of creativity).
What astonishes me are people (mostly young men) who trot about with no hat, no mittens, and their jacket open. For those in warmer climates, keep in mind that bare skin freezes very quickly in these conditions. I keep thinking I should be distributing mits and stern advice.
I just thought I'd say 'Hi' - I always enjoy your posts.

Hi Dora - nice to hear from you and glad you're keeping warm!! I'm always amazed too at how silly some people are in this very very cold weather. I suspect with some folks its an issue of not having warm enough clothes, but for anyone else, it's just silly. I walked the 5 blocks to the post office yesteday, bundled up like the Pilsbury dough-boy, and even that little walk I came home with almost frostbite on the top of my cheeks right above my scarf. I'm planning to hibernate as much as possible this week and work on jewlery for my upcoming show. Take care and stay warm. Happy beading and resume writing.

Hi all,
& here I am moaning about a grey summers day!! LOL I was gonna mow the lawns today & it looks like rain! BUMMER..We NEVER get anywhere near those temps here in NZ.. we moan about 1 or 2 degree Celsius.. Huh, what a bunch of softies.. My fingers freeze though, even at those temps. Turn completely white and hurt like h*ll.
Thinking of you all in the Northern..

The weather is supposed to warm up a bit by the weekend, but only to -10 or so. Get lots of stuff done. Dora
grin.. At least the cat doesn't sit on the keyboard.. I have one who thinks he is king of the keys LOL

I have to admit to hating to wear hats. And gloves are OK, but I hate mittens. However I let the weather dictate my outerwear, and will wear whatever I need to, to keep warm. I don't care for Sorrells, but have some Air Force mukluks that go up to my knees. I have a fur hat that I can adjust to make a tunnel in front of my face. (This keeps a layer of warmed air in front of your face to keep it warm, and also to keep the air warm enough not to damage your lungs. I also have a down coat that comes almost to my ankles, which I refer to as my "sleeping bag".
And don't forget to keep warm clothing in your trunk -- it could save your life.
This week it has been at least -30F every morning, but has been warming in the middle of the day. But it doesn't seem quite so bad, being as it has warmed up 25 degrees from a week ago. And we're getting more sun. A 6 1/2 minute increase every day.

ROFLMAO! This is so me.
I don't like wearing hats or heavy mits (not good for retrieving keys) either, but I'll live with hat head to keep relatively warm. Heat escapes out the pointy parts, you know, basic physics. Dora back to my resume.
What you have may be chillblains. Those can also be bad because of stress too, which also contricts your capilaries. If you are susceptible to chillblains, be sure not to smoke.
Tina
Oh, I know what chillblains are!! I do get these from time to time, but the white finger thing only lasts until I can get warmed up again.. Poor circulation methinks.. and I don't smoke. Hubby just gave up in October out of the blue and has only had one since.. Good for him I reckon
